What this version stores

A cookie is a small value that a browser can send with requests to a site. Local storage is a separate browser feature whose values are not automatically attached to those requests. The preference controls below use local storage, not a cookie.

The site stores the key boardbuddyquivar-cookie-preference only when you choose a setting. Its value is either accepted or essential. It records no name, email address, browsing history or message content.

Duration and control

The preference has no automatic expiry in this code. It remains until you remove it here, clear this site’s browser data, or your browser removes it. It applies to the current browser and site origin; it does not synchronize across devices.

You can block local storage or use private browsing. Articles remain readable, although the preference may not persist. If storage access is blocked, the controls report that the choice could not be saved.

What is not stored

The navigation menu, strategy tabs and scroll animations keep no persistent browsing record. The message drafting tool processes text on the page without saving it in local storage. Copy and download actions create copies only when you request them.

The supplied static code sets no session cookies. Hosting infrastructure may separately handle requests or security functions; browser controls can show cookies actually present on the deployed site. External sites reached through links have their own storage practices.

If optional services are introduced, their purposes and relevant choices should be explained before activation where consent is required. An acceptance recorded here does not itself activate any future service.
